Overview
Substation Designer position in Pune, India focused on electrical design deliverables for substation projects.
What you'll do
- Develop or modify electrical layout/plan drawings for substation equipment and structures.
- Prepare substation foundation layout/plan, section/elevation, and conduit layout/plan drawings.
- Create substation grounding layout/plan drawings and control building layout/plan plus section/elevation drawings.
- Prepare electrical schematics and electrical wiring design drawings.
- Develop bills of materials for electrical equipment and materials.
- Review and comment on vendor and manufacturer equipment drawings.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and apply relevant client/national/state standards.
What you'll need
- 1+ years of direct substation physical and electrical design experience using CAD software on electric utility industry projects.
- Ability to develop protection and control drawings including schematics and wiring deliverables.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D design software including MicroStation and AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor 3D with SDS.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel for project deliverables.
- Higher Secondary (12th Pass) required; diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience working on EPC or other design-build contract types.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
