Overview
Own the operational business relationship and performance of assigned suppliers supporting Lam's global manufacturing network, ensuring material availability, improving supplier performance, and mitigating supply risks.
What you'll do
- Own supplier operational performance across delivery, capacity, quality, responsiveness and other established performance metrics; identify performance gaps, establish improvement plans and drive suppliers toward sustainable results.
- Translate demand and business requirements into supplier execution plans, aligning material availability, capacity and delivery commitments with Lam's manufacturing requirements.
- Manage changing and competing priorities, continually assessing business impact, supply risk and customer requirements to reprioritize work and maintain execution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Lead supplier escalations from identification through closure, assessing business impact, establishing containment and recovery actions, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, driving supplier accountability, and escalating when broader leadership intervention is required.
- Identify supply risks proactively by analyzing supplier capability, capacity, lead times, inventory, demand signals and other operational indicators; develop mitigation plans before constraints impact manufacturing or customers.
- Apply independent judgment to complex supply-chain problems, evaluating multiple variables and incomplete information to determine practical solutions and drive timely decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Strategic Commodity Management, Purchasing, Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Engineering and other stakeholders to resolve supply challenges and achieve commodity and business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier processes and supply-chain practices, including inventory strategies such as JIT, Kanban, min/max and consignment, lead-time reduction, capacity planning and operational efficiency.
- Use data to drive decisions, developing and monitoring supplier performance metrics, identifying trends and root causes, and translating analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Influence suppliers without direct authority, establishing clear expectations, challenging gaps constructively and holding partners accountable for commitments.
- Support business continuity and supplier-risk mitigation, developing recovery and contingency plans and coordinating execution when supply conditions change.
- Communicate complex supply-chain issues clearly and concisely, including business impact, root cause, recovery plans, risks and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
- Maintain awareness of relevant supply-chain, semiconductor and supplier-market trends and incorporate appropriate insights into supplier-management decisions.
