System Engineer

Overview

Work with customers and partners on implementation projects, guiding them to a successful Backbase software deployment.

What you'll do

• Analyze each customer's situation, needs and existing setup to provide documented implementation guidelines.
• Take ownership of projects and enable customers to set up their environments from test to production.
• Advise on security standards and performance optimization.
• Design, develop and oversee implementation of solutions that improve stability, scalability, availability and latency of the product.
• Provide input from customers and partners to improve the product in collaboration with R&D teams.

What you'll need

• Experience designing and/or building mission critical services (large scale internet or cloud-based services) and proven experience with production systems and production issues.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Maven, Jenkins, and Shell.
• Experience deploying Java applications, JVM tuning, and Tomcat.
• Experience with Cloud (AWS or Google Cloud).
• Expertise with Linux/Unix systems.
• Exposure to DevOps tools such as Travis CI, GitLabs, Jenkins, GoCD, Chef, Salt, Puppet, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

Nice to have

• Experience with configuration tools: Ansible (preferable).
• Experience with Kubernetes (preferable), OpenShift, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
• Experience deploying Spring Boot applications (a plus).
• Database experience as an administrator.
• Experience with Helm charts.
