System Operability Engineer

Overview

Design and develop products, solutions and systems for industries including Oil and Gas, Fertilizer, Petrochemical and Clean Energy, with a focus on process simulation and optimization of industrial plants.

What you'll do

• Perform engineering for process simulation and optimization of industrial plants.
• Carry out dynamic simulation and process calculations.
• Establish flow charts and implement components including pumps, compressors and turbines.
• Develop heat balances, flow diagrams, operational concepts (POC), water steam/operating cycles, cooling water and/or air systems, performance guarantees, material balances, equipment sizing, P&IDs and PFUPS.
• Resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise based upon precedents.
• Customize projects to client needs.
• Convey technical information to clients and colleagues from other functions.
• Support knowledge management by gathering data and storing it in a system.
• Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.

What you'll need

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma / GED.
• A minimum of 2-10 additional years of experience in Process Engineering simulations and plant-level understanding in Oil & Gas, Fertilizer and other Chemical engineering domains.
• Simulation software expertise in UNISIM and ASPEN HYSYS.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to influence others and lead small teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Centrifugal Compressors (Primary).
• Experience with Reciprocating Compressors (Good to Have).
• Experience with Gas Turbines (Good to Have).
• Experience with Electric Motor (Good to Have).
• Experience with startup, shutdown and steady-state simulation of the above-mentioned products in either UNISIM or HYSYS.
• A basic understanding of the mechanical aspects of compression trains, including shaft design, couplings and gearboxes.
