Tech Specialist- APC

Overview

Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining APC applications to improve process stability, reliability, energy efficiency, and profitability.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement APC strategies to optimize plant performance and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Conduct scoping studies, site surveys, and pretests to support APC implementation.
• Tune base layer controls and create functional design for control and optimization.
• Perform model identification, step tests, and develop inferential models for key parameters.
• Handle APC pre-commissioning, commissioning, controller tuning, and post implementation benefit audits.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent qualifications.
• 8-12 years of experience implementing APC end-to-end (scoping study to post implementation benefit audit).
• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and commissioning advanced process control and base layer control strategies.
• Experience with listed APC-related tools (e.g., Shell PACE, SMOC, Aspen DMC3/DMC plus, Honeywell Profit Suite).
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues involving controllers and other process-related problems.
• Good communication, presentation, interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills.
