Engineer - Control Software

Overview

Lead Engineer - Control Software responsible for technical ownership and delivery of control system functions for complex power system and FACTS projects (STATCOM/SVC).

What you'll do

• Develop and implement STATCOM/SVC control algorithms and control functions using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Perform simulation, verification, and validation of control functions in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Develop and execute PSCAD simulations for dynamic performance studies and control validation.
• Conduct RTDS-based real-time testing including closed-loop and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Support STATCOM/SVC commissioning activities such as controller testing, tuning, and site troubleshooting.
• Coordinate and lead software/control engineering activities from engineering through testing and commissioning.

What you'll need

• Minimum 6–12 years of experience in FACTS/HVDC projects.
• MTech or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for implementing and simulating control algorithms.
• Strong practical experience with PSCAD/EMTDC for dynamic performance studies.
• Hands-on experience with RTDS real-time simulation and controller testing (closed-loop/HIL).
• Practical experience in STATCOM or SVC commissioning.
• Fluent written and spoken English and ability to travel internationally for testing and commissioning.
