Lead Engineer - Control Software

Overview

Lead Engineer - Control Software will own and deliver control system functions for complex power system and FACTS (STATCOM/SVC) projects, from requirements through commissioning.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement STATCOM/SVC control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Run and validate MATLAB/Simulink simulations, including verification and validation.
• Build and execute PSCAD simulations for dynamic performance studies.
• Conduct RTDS real-time testing, including closed-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Lead software/control engineering activities across engineering, testing, and commissioning for STATCOM/SVC projects.
• Support commissioning, including controller testing, tuning, functional verification, and site troubleshooting.

What you'll need

• 10-15 years of experience in FACTS/HVDC projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control algorithm implementation.
• Strong practical experience with PSCAD/EMTDC for dynamic performance studies.
• Hands-on RTDS experience for controller testing, including closed-loop/HIL.
• Practical experience in STATCOM or SVC commissioning activities.
• MSc/MTech or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or equivalent.
