Technology Architect

Overview

Lead a squad delivering parts of an automotive Android vehicle abstraction stack, such as VHAL, SOME/IP-to-VHAL integration, or Car Framework extensions. Translate architecture into designs, own technical quality and delivery, and contribute hands-on to complex engineering work.

What you'll do

• Design components covering interfaces, concurrency, data models, errors, timeouts, and memory ownership.
• Implement complex VHAL, subscription, property-store, SOME/IP, and CAN signal-mapping functionality.
• Define property ID allocation and configuration-generation pipelines.
• Set and enforce performance budgets for latency, IPC, boot time, callbacks, and memory.
• Drive vehicle-network, SOME/IP, app, and framework integration.
• Lead task planning, code reviews, mentoring, defect triage, and technical-debt management.
• Own VTS coverage, SELinux policy, and ASPICE traceability.

What you'll need

• Minimum 12 years of experience in Automotive Digital Cockpit Solutions.
• At least 10 years of total experience and 6 years in Android platform/AOSP with VHAL or comparable HAL ownership.
• Advanced AIDL/HIDL HAL and C++17/20 implementation skills.
• Strong Java, Kotlin, AOSP, Soong, debugging, and SELinux skills.
• Practical SocketCAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, and SOME/IP experience.
• 15 years of full-time education.

Nice to have

• Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
• Exposure to HIL/SIL rigs and restbus simulation tools.
• Experience migrating HIDL VHAL to AIDL VHAL.
