Test Engineer (Instrumentations)

Overview

Test Engineer in the Instrumentations team at MKS Instruments in Bangalore, contributing to design, development, testing, sustaining engineering and documentation of advanced MKS products, reporting to the Bangalore Engineering Manager.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute test plans with engineering teams to validate performance against requirements.
• Perform functional, performance and regression testing, and report results on existing and new products.
• Identify and track performance for both hardware and software issues in the design, and report defects to the engineering team.
• Stay updated with current testing tools, techniques and methodologies.
• Identify testing limitations in state-of-the-art vacuum measurement equipment and drive testing technology to new levels.

What you'll need

• A degree in Engineering, Physics or other related field.
• 3+ years of experience in product testing, simulation and reporting.
• Knowledge and experience in statistical methods of data analysis.
• Experience with LabVIEW and Python programming.

Nice to have

• Database development experience.
• Experience in any of the following: 8D, DFMEA, DFx.
• Experience in electronic circuit understanding.
• Experience in vacuum technology.

• Location: Bangalore Whitefield, India.
• Work performed in office and engineering laboratory environments.
• Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods.
• Ability to use laboratory equipment and occasionally lift and move electronic equipment or test fixtures up to 25 pounds.
• Regular use of electronic test equipment and prototype hardware for product development, validation and troubleshooting.
