Overview
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Testing Engineer to join its team in Savli, Vadodara, India. The role involves testing switchgear products, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and delivering work within targeted timelines.
What you'll do
- Understand relevant national and international standards such as IEC.
- Understand different kinds of electrical schematic drawings.
- Trace and solve electrical and mechanical faults by referring to documents.
- Perform high voltage testing, partial discharge testing and routine testing of switchgear products.
- Perform electrical wiring independently in local control cubicles and verify basic interlocks.
- Handle the day-to-day workload independently.
- Supervise team members and deliver output within targeted timelines.
- Apply practices such as 5S and KAIZEN.
- Coordinate with production, stores, packing and marketing/planning functions.
- Handle customer inspections independently.
- Manage equipment calibration and its certification.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
- Work in accordance with safety and integrity responsibilities.
What you'll need
- A Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with first class above 60%.
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of professional work experience in Procurement.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP MM.
- Well versed with MS Office.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawing.
- Skills in high voltage testing, partial discharge testing and mechanical endurance testing of switchgear products.
- Adequate knowledge of functional and interlock verification in low voltage or local control cubicles.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.
- Knowledge of basic SAP.
- Ability to learn quickly and master new technologies.
Nice to have
- Experience in GIS and DTB testing.
