Overview

Trainer for HIM Services focused on developing and delivering structured medical coding training and learning programs.

What you'll do

• Analyze learning requirements to identify training opportunities and competency gaps.
• Design, develop, and deliver learning solutions to improve coding knowledge, accuracy, productivity, and compliance.
• Create training frameworks, instructional materials, reference guides, and educational resources.
• Facilitate interactive training sessions using adult learning principles and varied techniques.
• Review and update training content to stay aligned with client specifications, regulatory requirements, and coding guidelines.
• Measure training outcomes via assessments, audits, performance tracking, and learner feedback.
• Coach and mentor learners and support competency development.

What you'll need

• At least 2–3 years of experience in a medical coding training role.
• Demonstrated ability to develop coding professionals.
• Comprehensive understanding of HIM principles and medical coding practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Experience facilitating onboarding for entry-level coders and certification-focused training.
• Expertise in EM, outpatient (OP), and inpatient (IP) coding specialties.
• Active AAPC or AHIMA certification is required.

• Requires working at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day.
