Overview
As a Virtualization Backup Engineer in Technical Customer Support, you’ll support customers end-to-end on virtualization backup issues, troubleshoot cases, and document results.
What you'll do
- Perform troubleshooting and analysis, including log file investigation.
- Act as a technical focal point with other IT professionals.
- Own customer problems from the start of a support case through resolution.
- Troubleshoot issues in Veeam and third-party components from Microsoft and VMware.
- Determine whether issues are known/unknown, defects, or caused by misconfiguration, and fix them as break/fix scenarios.
- Educate customers by explaining how the process and interaction works.
- Document all customer interactions accurately within SLA in the CRM tool.
What you'll need
- Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Advanced user or administrative level with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025.
- Advanced user or administrative level with Windows 10/11.
- Practical knowledge of TCP/IP and networking configuration/troubleshooting (NAT, ports, DHCP, DNS), including OS and firewall configuration.
- Ability to quickly learn, understand, and explain technical information.
- Ability and desire to take ownership of client issues through resolution.
- Excellent time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- UNIX and/or Linux knowledge.
- VMware ESX(i) knowledge.
- Microsoft Hyper-V knowledge.
- Microsoft Exchange server administration knowledge.
- Database engines (SQL/Oracle) knowledge.
