AI Engineer 6 - AI Foundation & Tooling, Ads Platform

Overview

AI Engineer focused on building AI infrastructure and agentic workflows for Netflix’s Ads Platform, including production operational and development automation. This is described as a greenfield role where you design and build from scratch.

What you'll do

• Architect and build a centralized context layer for AI agents’ grounded, team-specific knowledge.
• Design agentic workflows across the development lifecycle, including AI-assisted code generation and automated test creation.
• Implement PR pre-review and deployment validation as part of agentic workflows.
• Build AI-powered operational workflows such as incident triage, log/metric correlation, root cause analysis, and guided resolution.
• Create multi-agent orchestration for coordinated implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Set up standardized AI development environments for AI-first workflows.
• Drive team-wide AI adoption through hands-on enablement activities like pairing and architecture reviews.

What you'll need

• 3+ years focused on applied AI systems.
• Proven production experience building and deploying agentic AI systems (architectures, orchestration, evaluation frameworks).
• Hands-on experience setting up AI infrastructure for end-to-end software development workflows.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals for production-grade systems.
• Deep retrieval-augmented generation experience (indexing, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, grounding techniques).
• Proficiency in Python and/or JVM languages.
• Ability to drive technical adoption across a team via pairing and architecture reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience as the first or early AI engineer on a team.
• Familiarity with LLM application patterns like context engineering, tool/function calling, structured outputs, and multi-agent coordination.
• Experience integrating AI into CI/CD pipelines (automated PR review, test generation, deployment validation).
• Background in building operational tooling such as incident response automation and diagnostic workflows.
