Analyst IB Finance

Overview

This Analyst role in IB Finance manages the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and reliability of financial reporting.

What you'll do

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and other accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards, rules and regulations.
• Support the identification, assessment and mitigation of financial risks, and report these financial risks to senior colleagues.
• Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure there is no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of internal controls, addressing any weaknesses or gaps.
• Develop and implement up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organisation.
• Manage the selection, implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaboration with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems.
• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports to authorities, and support other departments in preparing and reviewing regulatory reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations.
• Take responsibility for the end results of a team's operational processing and activities.
• Escalate breaches of policies and procedures appropriately.
• Take responsibility for embedding new policies and procedures adopted due to risk mitigation.
• Advise and influence decision making within your own area of expertise.
• Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to.
• Deliver your work in line with relevant rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
• Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
• Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience, guided by precedents.
• Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex or sensitive information.
• Act as contact point for stakeholders outside the immediate function, building a network of contacts inside and outside the organisation.
