Overview
Assistant Finance Manager – Financial Reporting in Unilever’s centralized finance team in Mumbai. You will lead financial statement preparation and governance over end-to-end reporting processes, including balance sheet management.
What you'll do
- Lead preparation, review, and submission of periodic financial statements per Unilever policies and GAAP/IFRS.
- Govern core financial processes such as closing, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, intercompany, and fixed assets.
- Manage balance sheet hygiene via balance sheet reviews, ageing analysis, and resolution of open items.
- Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to meet timelines and quality standards.
- Review and sign off key account reconciliations, escalating and resolving issues promptly.
- Use SAP for posting, reporting, analysis, and controls; use Power BI to enhance dashboards where applicable.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, answering queries, and ensuring remediation.
What you'll need
- Professional qualification preferred such as CA, CMA, ACCA, or MBA in Finance (or equivalent).
- Strong experience in financial reporting, controllership, or related roles (ideally in a large/multinational organization).
- Hands-on experience with SAP (FI/CO or equivalent modules) in a reporting or controlling environment.
- Exposure to reporting/visualization tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
- Accounting knowledge of local GAAP and/or IFRS with a control/governance mindset.
- Proficiency in SAP for postings, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ability to plan and prioritize under tight month-end and year-end timelines.
