Assistant Manager - Market Researcher

Overview

Support the research activities of Hitachi Research Institute (HRI), Hitachi's internal strategic think-tank headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and supervise junior researchers in India.

What you'll do

• Collect and organize information on macroeconomy, government policy/geopolitics, finance, technology, industry, and energy & environment in India and other regions globally.
• Identify critical uncertainties for Hitachi, and opportunities and threats for Hitachi, by comparing the present status of business strategy with competitor benchmarking.
• Work out measures to capture opportunities and reduce threats.
• Supervise junior researcher in the team in India.

What you'll need

• Master's degree in economics, commerce or business from a reputed college or university.
• 7+ years of related work experience, preferably with a market research, consulting or credit rating firm, or a strategy or corporate office of a multinational company.
• Ability to handle research and consultancy assignments independently, including writing research proposals, conducting research (secondary and primary), report writing, and communication with Hitachi businesses.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• Ability to use AI for research work.
• Team management and good interpersonal skills for team building and stakeholder management.

• Location: New Delhi, Delhi, India.
• Open to domestic and foreign travel.
• Works in the India office within a team-based environment, engaging with the Tokyo head office of HRI remotely via online meetings.
• Fixed term contract, full time.
