Associate, Alternatives Fund Accounting (NE)

Overview

Associate, Alternatives Fund Accounting supports private equity fund accounting and client reporting, including financial statements, carry calculations, and audit/regulatory deliverables.

What you'll do

• Prepare and review quarterly management accounts for client private equity funds.
• Lead general client reporting by managing report structure and KPI/service-level requirements.
• Compute carry, equalization, and late closing interest for funds administered.
• Prepare and review waterfall calculations and maintain accounting records through GL and trial balance.
• Manage and coordinate annual fund audits with external auditors and the client.
• Review draft annual financial statements under applicable GAAP/IFRS based on fund domicile.
• Review and complete regulatory returns as required and support tax engagement deliverables.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of related experience in private equity fund accounting (preferred).
• Strong knowledge through direct experience of waterfalls, IRR, and performance metrics (e.g., MOIC, DPI, TERs).
• Extensive experience preparing periodic and annual audited GAAP-based financial statements for private equity funds.
• Essential working knowledge of UK or US GAAP; IFRS/Canadian/Lux GAAP is desirable.
• Excellent working knowledge of accounting databases/running reports.
• Competent user of MS Excel and other MS products.
• Experience with FIA (Front Invest Analytics) is ideal but not required.
