Associate - Business SOX

Overview

Associate role focused on SOX-related audit and assurance work, including control testing, workpaper preparation, and review of staff deliverables.

What you'll do

• Prepare basic and moderately complex audit workpapers.
• Analyze control activities and supporting documentation.
• Exercise professional skepticism when assessing audit evidence.
• Identify, assess, and document controls and weaknesses in client accounting systems.
• Evaluate assigned areas of controls testing and suggest improvement points.
• Perform timely reviews of staff workpapers and provide feedback.
• Second review workpapers and directly report to a Partner while attending board/client presentations or meetings where possible.

What you'll need

• Have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MIS, IT, or a related field.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in public accounting in audit or assurance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of information technology and systems.
• Have experience supervising staff professionals.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills.
• Be able to identify internal control deficiencies and document management letter comments for client communication.
• Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Know and apply specialized knowledge, rules, regulations, and the AICPA code of ethics.
