Associate Director - Application Support Engineering

Overview

Lead application support engineering and technology operations for business-critical banking applications and platforms. The role oversees reliability, availability, performance, resilience, incident management, and service improvement across hybrid environments.

What you'll do

• Develop IT strategies aligned with business goals.
• Oversee application, infrastructure, cloud, network, database, middleware, storage, and backup operations.
• Lead major incident response, bridge calls, troubleshooting, and service restoration.
• Drive automation, observability, reliability engineering, capacity planning, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Lead multidisciplinary Application Support, SRE, Infrastructure Operations, and Major Incident Management teams.
• Manage vendor performance, service levels, contract renewals, and third-party risk governance.

What you'll need

• 16+ years leading teams in 24x7 production support, operations, or reliability engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, MCA, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading L1 and L2 application support, infrastructure operations, and observability engineering teams.
• Expertise in AWS, Azure, virtualization, networking, storage, compute, Kubernetes, VMware, and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of JEE, enterprise technologies, microservices, and distributed applications.
• Technical knowledge of ServiceNow, Oracle, SQL, Dynatrace, and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of ITIL, DevOps, Agile, SRE, and incident, problem, change, and request management.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, large financial institutions, or regulated environments.
