Overview
Associate Director, RDU IT Data Engineering (individual contributor) leading design and delivery of patient-centric data and AI platforms for rare disease innovation.
What you'll do
- Design and build cloud-native ELT/ETL data pipelines and domain-oriented data products on AWS and Snowflake.
- Define integration patterns for batch, micro-batch, and event-driven integrations with performance, reliability, and security optimization.
- Use AI copilots to scaffold SQL/Python/dbt code and generate tests and query optimizations with human review.
- Implement data quality frameworks with AI-enabled anomaly/drift detection and incident root-cause suggestions.
- Operationalize data governance and privacy controls including RBAC/PBAC, encryption, retention, and AI-assisted PII detection.
- Optimize Snowflake warehouses/queries/dbt models for cost, performance, and concurrency.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, and analytics.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Hands-on expertise in SQL and Python.
- Experience building robust ETL/ELT and orchestration (Apache Airflow, AWS Glue).
- Snowflake experience including resource monitors, RBAC, warehouse sizing, and performance tuning.
- dbt and Fivetran experience for modular, testable transformations with version control and CI/CD.
- Practical experience using AI copilots for code/test generation with human review.
- Experience with automated PII detection/tagging to support GDPR/HIPAA compliance.
- Knowledge of data governance and FAIR/TRUSTed data product principles and data catalogs/metadata standards.
Details
- Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore; local candidates who can join immediately are preferred.
- Working pattern: on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office.
