Associate Food Designer - Beverages & Dairy

Overview

The Associate Food Designer will develop beverage and dairy formulations and prototypes, selecting flavor and ingredient solutions for customer projects while meeting legal, cost, stability, and timeline requirements.

What you'll do

• Select and recommend flavor and ingredient solutions for customer projects.
• Develop application formulations and industrial-scale beverage and dairy products.
• Plan projects and create beverage and dairy prototypes from development briefs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Flavorists, Product Experience, GRA, and other teams.
• Support new concept generation, innovation activities, and adoption of new technologies.
• Build knowledge of ingredient performance, applications, and end-product manufacturing processes.
• Develop experimental designs and formulation best practices with local and regional experts.

What you'll need

• 7–8 years of product development experience in beverages or a similar food, ingredient, or flavor industry role.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, or a relevant discipline.
• Strong knowledge of beverage and dairy applications, formulation, manufacturing, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of beverage and dairy raw materials, processing, food safety, regulations, GMP, and production processes.
• Experience formulating products such as RTD beverages, milkshakes, ice creams, DPB, CSD, PSD, cordial syrup, and emulsions.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, English proficiency, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of proteins, pectins, gums, and other hydrocolloids.
• Strong project management and experimental design skills.
• Innovative problem-solving skills and a passion for beverages.
• Experience communicating and presenting locally and regionally.
