Associate Lead Database Engineer

Overview

Associate Lead Microsoft Database Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive database operational excellence across Rockstar’s global SQL Server environment.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of SQL Server Database Engineers.
• Oversee health, performance, and availability of enterprise-scale SQL Server environments.
• Architect, implement, and maintain HA/DR solutions using Always On and clustering.
• Automate routine operational tasks to improve team efficiency.
• Review and tune queries, indexes, and server configurations to reduce latency.
• Audit server health, error logs, and system performance.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incidents.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and development.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring Database Engineers in enterprise environments.
• Expert understanding of SQL Server internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with HA/DR design and multi-data center solutions.
• Advanced T-SQL and query optimization expertise.
• Strong knowledge of indexing strategies, locking, blocking, and concurrency management.
• Hands-on experience with storage, server, and OS-level performance tuning.

Details

• Full-time, in-office position based at Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.
• NY base pay range at start of employment: $133,900 to $187,500 per year.
• Participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
