Associate, Private Markets and Alternative Operations

Overview

Associate role in Global Client Alternative Services (GCAS) within BlackRock’s Outsourced Platform Services, focused on private markets and alternative operations for middle-office clients.

What you'll do

• Apply expertise in loan and private markets across areas like project finance, structured credit, real assets, and syndicated loans.
• Interpret and analyze complex legal documentation to translate key provisions into operational insights.
• Facilitate settlement processes for instruments including syndications, secondary trades, CLOs, restructurings, and other private-market products.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) through collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Investigate and resolve cash, position, and transaction discrepancies promptly and accurately.
• Lead initiatives for process automation and control enhancements to improve efficiency and mitigate operational risk.

What you'll need

• 3–6 years of experience in loan operations or similar settlements, reconciliations, and documentation-driven transactions.
• Strong understanding of private credit, real assets, and project finance.
• Exceptional communication and client service skills to foster relationships.
• Comprehensive understanding of banking and investment management, including alternatives such as private credit and bank loans.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with loan-centric systems is advantageous.
• Proven ability to perform under pressure in high-volume, high-risk environments.
