Associate Site Reliability Engineer

Overview

Associate Site Reliability Engineer (Associate Platform Engineer on the SRE track) to learn reliability engineering by operating, automating, and responding to incidents for production services on a multi-account AWS estate.

What you'll do

• Operate and tune monitoring, logging, and alerting using an Open Telemetry-based observability stack.
• Track SLIs and SLOs and help maintain reliability dashboards and reports.
• Assist with root cause analysis after incidents, documenting findings and follow-up actions.
• Automate routine operational tasks using Python or Bash and contribute to Terraform modules.
• Support ECS Fargate, EKS, and Lambda workloads.
• Join the on-call rotation, respond to PagerDuty alerts, and execute recovery procedures.
• Apply IAM, secrets management, and least-privilege practices and help maintain audit evidence.

What you'll need

• 0-2 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, systems, or cloud engineering (internships and substantial projects count).
• Scripting ability in Python or Bash and methodical technical problem solving.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) or equivalent cloud fundamentals.
• Linux administration familiarity and basic networking (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP).
• Exposure to Git-based workflows (GitHub or similar).
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent proven skills.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate.
• Exposure to Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of SLO/SLI concepts and incident management workflows.
• Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry-based stacks).
