Overview
The Associate Systems Developer maintains and supports corporate applications, including security, configuration, validation, deployments, releases, troubleshooting, and application documentation.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application-specific support issues.
- Serve as the IT configuration expert for assigned systems, including system configuration, design, and subject matter expertise for developers, business support teams, and business users.
- Establish system configuration standards and documentation.
- Assist with publishing and deploying system code to application environments as directed.
- Enter and monitor change requests while following established Change Management policies and procedures.
- Execute application security requests for assigned systems.
- Work with applicable teams and vendors to assist with application releases, release management, and backend process management.
- Write and maintain application-specific documentation in accordance with procedural documents and as directed.
- Manage application support queues and troubleshoot issues using technical skills such as SQL queries and Windows Event Viewer.
- Install and maintain enterprise application software, including dedicated hardware, application code deployments, and configuration changes.
- Diagnose problems and define, resolve, and coordinate implementation of solutions with other groups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of application problems, working with the system development team, systems/network administration personnel, other departments at PPD, or software vendors when necessary.
- Learn and adhere to PPD(CRG)-specific Computer System Lifecycle Management Procedures and Processes.
- See issue resolution through to completion.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job, comparable to 3-4 years, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of and experience working in application support.
- General understanding of server administration and architecture, including Windows Server and Linux.
- Ability to navigate Linux directory structures, understand Windows services, and troubleshoot using Windows Event Viewer.
- Ability to interact with relational databases, primarily Oracle and some SQL Server.
- Ability to author Structured Query Language (SQL)-based queries and troubleshoot PL/SQL packages.
- Support knowledge of the applications and technology being supported.
- Moderate support knowledge of desktop operating systems and desktop productivity applications, including MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio.

- Long, varied hours are required occasionally.
- Required to work in APAC Shift-2: 1 PM IST-10 PM IST / 3:30 PM PST-12:30 AM PST.
