Job description

Overview

The Associate Systems Developer supports the day-to-day operation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of business automation solutions built primarily on Microsoft Power Platform and RPA technologies. The role focuses on first-level troubleshooting, documented recovery procedures, testing and production support, with opportunities to contribute to low-complexity enhancements under the guidance of experienced developers.

What you'll do

  • Monitor scheduled automation jobs and identify failed, terminated or incomplete executions.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting using execution logs, error messages, alerts and approved support procedures.
  • Restart, reprocess or recover automation jobs by following documented Runbooks and validate successful completion.
  • Create, update and track incidents/service requests with clear evidence; escalate issues requiring deeper technical investigation to L2 support.
  • Execute regression testing for application patches, upgrades, migrations and configuration changes; prepare test data and capture evidence.
  • Support BAT/UAT, production deployments, hypercare and post-deployment validation for new or changed automations.
  • Maintain PDDs, SDDs, Runbooks, known-error records and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance, minor configuration changes and low-complexity automation enhancements.
  • Develop or modify basic Power Automate workflows and Power Apps components; work with SharePoint, Dataverse and SQL as required.
  • Use existing APIs/connectors according to solution specifications and support basic Power Automate Desktop or Blue Prism activities where applicable.
  • Identify recurring failures and improvement opportunities and work with L2 developers to improve automation stability.
  • Participate in scheduled support rotations and communicate clearly with business, application and technical teams during incidents.

What you'll need

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in RPA, automation development, application support or software development.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate and exposure to Power Apps, SharePoint, Dataverse and SQL.
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, programming/scripting and relational databases.
  • Ability to interpret logs and troubleshoot routine automation failures using structured procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow defined procedures and work independently on routine issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to ServiceNow or another incident/change management platform is desirable.
