Automation Engineer (PLC/DCS/SCADA)

Overview

The Automation Engineer II designs, configures, tests, commissions, and supports automation solutions for bioprocess systems in Pune. The role works with UNICORN software, Rockwell PLC systems, and PLC/DCS/SCADA automation platforms.

What you'll do

• Design and configure automation solutions for chromatography, filtration, TFF, and single-use mixer systems.
• Test, commission, debug, and optimize automation and instrumentation components.
• Develop UNICORN configurations and methods, and Rockwell PLC programs.
• Prepare automation and instrumentation documentation, including loop diagrams, I/O lists, and wiring drawings.
• Collaborate with suppliers, end users, project managers, and engineers.
• Provide user training and commissioning support.
• Support product lifecycle management and product obsolescence activities.

What you'll need

• At least 6 years of post-qualification experience in automation or a similar position.
• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, E&TC, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA software testing and Siemens platforms.
• Knowledge of GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, S88, ISA, and IEC standards.
• Experience with project engineering or project management for biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
• Factory test and/or site work experience.

Nice to have

• Higher or secondary degree in a related subject.
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical market.

Details

• On-site role in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
• Travel up to 25% for project follow-up, inspection, site acceptance testing, and troubleshooting.
