AVP II – AI and Data Engineering

Overview

Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering software products, AI capabilities, and trusted data solutions. Partner with business leaders to guide initiatives from discovery through delivery, adoption, and ongoing operation.

What you'll do

• Lead, coach, and develop software, AI, and data engineering teams.
• Shape prioritised roadmaps, features, benefit hypotheses, and adoption plans.
• Own delivery from discovery and planning through release, support, and benefits tracking.
• Guide secure software products, AI applications, automation, and agentic workflows.
• Oversee Databricks data pipelines, data products, datasets, and governance.
• Establish delivery governance, operational ownership, monitoring, and incident practices.
• Advise senior stakeholders on options, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, and progress.

What you'll need

• Significant experience delivering software, data, and AI capabilities in complex organisations.
• Several years leading technical teams and concurrent initiatives.
• Experience with people leadership, coaching, capability building, and performance management.
• Strong product and delivery management skills, including roadmaps and agile practices.
• Software engineering knowledge across cloud applications, APIs, testing, CI/CD, security, and reliability.
• Practical Databricks and data engineering knowledge, including SQL, Python, dbt, and modelling.
• Working knowledge of applied AI and ML, including LLM solutions and responsible AI.
