Business Controller

Overview

Join KONE India's Business Controlling and Analytics team in Chennai as a Business Controller, partnering with business leaders to support performance through financial insights, accurate reporting and forecasting in line with the KONE Financial Control Model.

What you'll do

• Manage and analyze actual monthly and year-to-date orders, sales and margins
• Facilitate the planning, forecasting and budget process
• Calculate and update labor rates and burden rates for tendering and order booking
• Monitor compliance of order recognition and revenue recognition with policy through sample checks
• Manage the quality of order booking through KPI development on p2f, p2p, cost overrun and related measures
• Ensure revenue and cost recognition as per policy for completion
• Support and coordinate CORE simplification projects
• Monitor slow-moving and non-moving projects and recognize provisions as per policy
• Coordinate with the business team on market trends and estimates
• Monitor and support cancellation of OR as per process
• Analyze the actual profitability of completed projects and share insights on p2p variance
• Support the business team on commercial terms, cash flow forecasts, future cost, risk and opportunity, and scenarios for major project tenders
• Manage stakeholders and business partner in close coordination with business leaders to align business priorities
• Perform other activities in line with business requirements as needed

What you'll need

• Minimum 10-15 years of industrial experience, preferably in an industrial environment, including cost planning, profitability analysis, financial modelling and business partnering
• Intermediate completion of a professional course: CA, ICWA or CIMA
• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
• Working knowledge of SAP ERP (or similar) and BI tools
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and collaboration among business leaders and stakeholders
• Working knowledge of IT tools and a flair for automation
• Ability to adapt to a multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel within and outside India
• Good organizational, process planning and change management skills; influencer in a matrix organization
• Hands-on business partnering experience
• Proficiency in English

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of French or Arabic
