Business Development Manager – Government (Federal, State & Local / SLED)

Overview

Business Development Manager responsible for developing U.S. public-sector (Federal, State, Local/SLED) business for Government/Federal/SLED opportunities.

What you'll do

• Identify and develop new business across Federal, State, and Local (SLED) markets.
• Build relationships with prime contractors and conduct outreach to uncover staffing and workforce needs.
• Manage opportunities from identification through award while maintaining a CRM/pipeline and reporting on targets.
• Maintain awareness of procurement regulations (including FAR/DFARS) and track legislative/budget developments.
• Monitor socio-economic and set-aside programs to inform teaming and set-aside strategy.
• Pursue positioning on contract vehicles and track solicitations and sources-sought via SAM.gov and state portals.
• Develop early-stage capture strategies and support RFP/RFI/RFQ processes with proposal/capture teams.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of Government/Federal/SLED/Public Sector business development or sales experience with a proven track record of winning contracts.
• Working understanding of RFP/RFI/RFQ and government procurement processes (including FAR and relevant state/local regulations).
• Familiarity with SAM.gov, GSA eLibrary/eBuy, GovWin IQ, or equivalent market-intelligence tools.
• Experience building relationships with prime contractors and public-sector stakeholders (IT Staffing/Professional Services/Consulting preferred).
• Ability to identify opportunities before formal solicitation with networking, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven hunter mentality and ability to independently build and manage a government business pipeline.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent professional experience.
