Canada Payroll Professional

Overview

Canada Payroll Professional responsible for collecting, verifying, and processing payroll accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment and tax laws.

What you'll do

• Maintain and update employee records for attendance, leave, overtime, and other payroll data.
• Calculate and verify pay and benefits, including wages, overtime, bonuses, vacation pay, and deductions.
• Prepare and process payroll payments for regular pay, benefits, and special payments.
• Generate and verify statements of earnings with gross/net pay and deductions and contributions.
• Prepare and file payroll documents such as year-end tax statements and Records of Employment.
• Provide payroll, benefits, and collective agreement information and support to employees and management.
• Reconcile payrolls to bank statements and identify/resolve payroll discrepancies.

What you'll need

• 3-5 years of experience with payroll systems and compliance with Canadian employment standards and laws.
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll and tax laws.
• Proficiency in payroll software.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee data with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience using Workday and/or ADP and Google Workspace.
• Payroll association certification required or preferred.
