Chief Engineer

Overview

Chief Engineer to lead and manage engineering operations for facilities in Kochi, India, overseeing technical infrastructure, maintenance, compliance, and team performance.

What you'll do

• Oversee setup, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of hotel/facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and building systems.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and external stakeholders for engineering projects to meet timelines, budget, and workmanship standards.
• Develop and refine preventive maintenance schedules and protocols for equipment and systems.
• Recruit, train, and develop the engineering team with focus on safety, quality, and continuous learning.
• Conduct inspections and analytical assessments to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Manage the engineering department budget and procurement for tools, supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Implement emergency protocols and contingency plans for system failures and collaborate on fire/life safety compliance.

What you'll need

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive engineering operations management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
• Proficiency in building systems management and technical infrastructure oversight.
• Strong budget management and project/vendor coordination skills.
• Preventive maintenance planning and implementation experience.
• Technical documentation, reporting, and data analysis skills.
• Leadership/team development abilities and strong communication skills.
