Chief Technical Engineer

Overview

Chief Technical Engineer / Deputy Department Manager responsible for leading and governing Civil & Structural engineering delivery in Chennai.

What you'll do

• Support the Department Manager in leading the Civil & Structural Engineering department.
• Provide technical leadership across FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, and brownfield projects.
• Lead analysis and design for concrete/steel structures, foundations, pipe racks, and equipment support structures.
• Review and approve critical deliverables, calculations, specifications, and design reports.
• Drive delivery performance, quality, and schedule compliance.
• Interface with clients, licensors, vendors, construction teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Lead recruitment, workforce planning, resource allocation, and employee development.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master's preferred in Structural Engineering).
• 25-30 years of Civil & Structural Engineering experience, including leadership roles.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, Refinery, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, and Industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE, API, Eurocodes, and relevant international standards.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SACS, SAP2000, Foundation 3D, SAFE, and ETABS.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and client-facing experience.
