Cluster & Systems Capacity Engineer

Overview

Cluster & Systems Capacity Engineer to plan, forecast, deploy, and optimize hardware infrastructure for a global cloud storage platform.

What you'll do

• Develop short-, medium-, and long-term capacity demand and hardware deployment forecasts across storage, compute, and network.
• Build predictive models translating business demand into infrastructure requirements using historical and planning inputs.
• Build and automate forecasting pipelines, simulation tools, and capacity dashboards.
• Monitor and analyze cluster utilization and performance across CPU, memory, IOPS, and network resources.
• Adjust deployment plans and configurations in real time to maintain headroom and system stability.
• Align capacity plans with capital budgets, cost targets, and financial outcomes, and support infrastructure investment decisions.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3-6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure capacity planning, systems/infrastructure engineering, production engineering, data center operations, or similar Cloud Operations roles.
• Familiarity with cloud storage infrastructure for highly available, large-scale distributed systems with high throughput and performance requirements.
• Background in capacity modeling, performance/scenario modeling, and/or infrastructure cost optimization.
• Proficiency in database/data analysis tools (preferably Snowflake, Metabase, Grafana, Python, SQL, Prometheus, Victoria Metrics, and Excel/Google Sheets).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
