Overview
Lead quantitative measurement and data science initiatives for Airbnb’s payments experience, with a focus on fraud mitigation, loss optimization, and safer transactions.
What you'll do
- Develop and apply causal inference methods, including experiments, regressions, and quasi-experimental approaches.
- Build methods to evaluate machine learning and AI model performance.
- Develop predictive models to classify, segment, and interpret user behavior.
- Evaluate and optimize agentic and LLM-based systems.
- Develop simulations and data products to optimize product and operational strategies.
- Produce research reports and data visualizations for stakeholders.
- Drive measurement and customer-insight initiatives across cross-functional teams.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of quantitative industry experience with a master’s degree in a quantitative field, or 3+ years with a PhD.
- Strong knowledge of causal inference, experimentation, applied statistical modeling, and end-to-end machine learning.
- Proficiency in Python or R for statistical programming.
- Experience using SQL and databases.
- Experience owning a business or technical domain end-to-end.
- Ability to communicate with audiences of varying technical levels.
- Ability to work independently and drive cross-functional alignment.
Nice to have
- Payments fraud or risk domain expertise.
- Experience evaluating agentic or LLM-based systems.
Details
- Remote eligible within eligible US states.
- Occasional office or offsite attendance may be required.
- Base pay range: $179,000–$210,000 USD yearly.
