Overview
As an AI Engineering Intern for the Competitive Intelligence team, you will design, develop, test, fine-tune, manage, and ship AI chatbots, agents, and apps that make competitive intelligence processes more automated, scalable, and intelligent. The internship takes place from May–August 2027 and involves delivering working AI-powered tools used by Sales, Marketing, Product, and leadership stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, fine-tune, and manage AI chatbots, agents, and apps for Competitive Intelligence.
- Scale and accelerate market and competitive research.
- Accelerate competitive data analysis.
- Analyze and distribute competitive news with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Predict competitors’ next strategic moves.
- Automate the creation and upkeep of competitive Sales resources.
- Challenge competitive resources to strengthen them before sharing them with users.
- Deliver contextual competitive insight to Sales teams at the right time and in the right format.
- Further automate Competitive Intelligence helpdesk responses.
- Build and ship working AI-powered tools that benefit 3,500+ Sales Representatives, support global Marketing campaigns, help refine product roadmap decisions, and keep leadership informed of strategic market motions.
- Fine-tune existing AI tools.
- Deliver at least 1 functioning resource creation agent.
- Deliver 1 functioning resource challenging agent.
- Increase the Sales support AI agent’s response accuracy over 95%.
- Help implement Competitive Intelligence helpdesk v2.
- Design the AI-powered technical comparison table builder v2.
- Deliver 1–2 other functioning projects defined together.
- Document how to maintain the deliverables.
- Work with Competitive Intelligence team members and stakeholders, including Sales Representatives, Product Managers, and Product Marketers.
What you'll need
- Practical experience with Anthropic Claude Chatbots, Cowork projects, Code projects, and Design projects—not just coursework but actual hands-on Claude experience.
- Working knowledge of agentic/tool use patterns, including function calling, RAG, and basic orchestration.
- Exposure to evaluating LLM output quality by building a test set, scoring responses, and determining whether a prompt change helped.
- Exposure to version control basics so work is recoverable and reviewable.
- Python proficiency, with comfort in API integration, data parsing, and basic pipeline construction.
- SQL exposure and ability to read and modify a trivial transformation query.
- Ability to work with ambiguous, evolving requirements and iterate quickly on a 10-week clock.
- Comfort interviewing subject-matter experts, including analysts, to reverse-engineer a workflow before automating it.
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or a graduate student, in an accredited college or university in AI engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn about technology.
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a high-energy, motivated self-starter.
- Understanding and operating within the team’s competitive intelligence ethics policy.
