Component Engineer

Overview

The Component Engineer supports the design and development of products, technical improvements, and component engineering deliverables for electrical and electromechanical parts.

What you'll do

• Verify part life cycles using manufacturer information.
• Scrub bills of materials and perform roadmap analysis.
• Review Product Change Notices and provide obsolescence data.
• Prepare schematics and layouts using ECAD tools.
• Suggest alternate parts using form-fit-function and value engineering.
• Support ECR/ECO change management processes.
• Standardize components and maintain approved part libraries.

What you'll need

• 3–6 years of industrial experience in component engineering and ECAD.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to understand electrical designs and obsolescence management.
• Ability to interpret EBOMs, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Understanding of product life cycle management.
• Experience identifying form-fit-function alternatives and mating manufacturer part numbers for connectors.
• Knowledge of MS Office tools.

Nice to have

• Analog and digital circuit board design experience using CAD tools or Cadence.
• Excel macros, VBA, MySQL, or MS Access experience.
• Knowledge of the life sciences domain.

• On-site role in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
• Reports to the Director of Engineering.
