Overview
Consultant responsible for OT Data Operations at the manufacturing edge, designing and deploying Ignition-based gateways and integrating OT data into MES and analytics.
What you'll do
- Design, configure, and deploy Ignition-based OT Data Operations gateways and related infrastructure.
- Implement and standardize sensor-to-signal workflows from PLC/SCADA through MES and analytics platforms.
- Collaborate with MES and controls teams to integrate OT Data Operations with TrakSYS MES and other capabilities.
- Apply and maintain ISA-95-aligned data models for assets, materials, orders, and events.
- Design integration patterns between OT systems and enterprise platforms (SAP, PLM, enterprise analytics).
- Define monitoring, alerting, security controls, and operational runbooks for gateways and MQTT brokers.
- Support site rollout activities including lab validation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and infrastructure sizing.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or IT Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in Controls Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and Data Analytics.
- 5+ years of relevant OT Data Operations experience on Ignition.
- Hands-on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (gateway configuration, historians, alarming, MQTT modules, security/SSO, Perspective, Jython).
- Knowledge of ISA-95 modeling concepts and OT-to-IT integration architecture.
- Hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA connectivity and protocols such as OPC-UA and Modbus.
- Experience with time-series databases/historians and MQTT broker technologies.
Nice to have
- Exposure to MES platforms such as TrakSYS or similar, and integration patterns with SAP.
- GCP certification.
- Background in Mathematics or Statistics.
