Control Engineer

Overview

Control Engineer for solar and battery energy storage (BESS) controls projects, managing controls deliverables and validation across the project lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Own project deliverables for the controls team, including controls software validation.
• Create project-specific controls software and support FAT, SAT, and HIL activities.
• Provide commissioning support and on-site startup and integration of systems.
• Track controls deliverables status and ensure timely, quality completion for assigned projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams/customers to finalize engineering requirements.
• Develop and improve customer overview and operational training material for control systems.
• Design and deploy control hardware configuration and communication networks (e.g., DI/DO, Ethernet, FO).

What you'll need

• Minimum 2+ years of experience developing and implementing control software.
• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical/electronic/instrumentation/controls engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with GE MarkVIe products/tools; Toolbox ST, Workstation ST, Cimplicity (SCADA), and P80i is preferable.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols including OPC-UA, Modbus, EGD, Profibus, CAN bus, IEC 61850, and IEC 104.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, SQL, and Matlab Simulink.
• Demonstrated software expertise in solar/BESS/plant-level controls, validation & verification, and formal methods.
• Experience/knowledge of communication networks equipment functionality, selection, software features, hardware & cyber security.
