Core Operations, Associate 2

Overview

Core Operations Associate 2 role in Middle Office and Custody operations, focused on income and corporate action processing, reconciliations and fund accounting support.

What you'll do

• Perform daily income processing and validation for Fixed Income and Equity securities.
• Validate accruals and amortization as per client-specific policies.
• Reconcile and resolve cash and stock breaks.
• Review and validate that deliverables are completed within the specified SLAs.
• Produce MIS reporting, data mining and analysis using Excel, Power BI and AI tools, and write SOP documents in Word.
• Execute process controls and take ownership and accountability for process delivery.
• Provide integrated, value-added customer service and operational support to clients.

What you'll need

• Sound knowledge of capital markets and trade flow.
• Knowledge of Fixed Income products and dividends processing.
• Good knowledge of upstream and downstream processes, including Middle Office and Custody processes.
• Good understanding of risk and control associated with Custody, income and corporate action processing.
• Strong Excel, Power BI and AI tools MIS reporting skills, data mining and analysis, and Word document (SOP) skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts and to work under tight timelines.
• Good understanding and execution of process controls.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, or MBA Finance.

Nice to have

• Experience in Middle Office operations, income and corporate action processes, and fund accounting in investment banking or asset management companies.
• Understanding of the Investment Manager and Custody business.
• Hands-on experience using the Bloomberg Terminal to search corporate actions, verify bond coupon accruals and check security prices.
• Good domain skills in fund accounting processes, especially accruals and amortization calculation and NAV calculation.
• Good domain skills in Middle Office / Custody operations around income and corporate action processing.
• Ability to manually calculate interest income and dividend entitlements, and understand tax implications on income payments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of researching and resolving reconciliation breaks, such as trade breaks, corporate action breaks and other product-related breaks.
• Ability to identify and report process risks in the reconciliation process.
• Exposure to data analysis or data scientist roles working with large data sets.
• AI and Lean/Six Sigma certification.
• Sound understanding of risk excellence measures within the organization.
• Understanding of Robotics and BPM.
• Good people management skills.
• NISM/NSE or CISI certifications.
