Core Services Data Operations - Lead Engineer

Overview

Lead data operations engineering for secure, reliable movement of data from source to destination using commercial off-the-shelf software. Partner with analytics, software development and delivery teams on strategically important initiatives.

What you'll do

• Perform installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned technology.
• Work directly with internal and external customers via email, phone and instant message where appropriate, gathering requirements and providing solutions.
• Work directly with vendors to resolve software configuration issues.
• Proactively monitor and report performance and utilization of the team's servers and software.
• Troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues and failures.
• Actively manage problem tickets and tasks.
• Assist with developing tactical strategies, processes and procedures related to systems/application administration.
• Collaborate with other lines of business on new initiatives.
• Write and modify scripts and artificial intelligence prompts used to automate routine functions.

What you'll need

• Experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems, networks, firewalls, databases, SSH public/private key authentication and PGP public/private key encryption/decryption.
• Experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting networks and firewalls.
• Experience writing and debugging Windows batch and Linux bash scripts.
• Experience engineering prompts for AI large language models; automating processing using agentic AI; reviewing output produced by the AI LLM or agent; and ensuring the AI agent’s actions meet the intended goal.
• Experience with public clouds such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs, JSON and XML.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and work with multiple priorities, sometimes under limited time constraints.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with others.

Nice to have

• Python, Java and JavaScript experience.
