Custom Software Engineer

Overview

Senior SME and technical lead for SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and SAP Datasphere, designing and implementing scalable end-to-end data and analytics solutions in an agile environment.

What you'll do

• Act as a Senior SME / Technical Lead for SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and SAP Datasphere.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, end-to-end data and analytics solutions using SAP BDC and SAP Datasphere.
• Drive architecture and implementation of SAP BDC Data Products, including consumption, integration, and extension scenarios.
• Own solution design across data acquisition, replication, transformation, modeling, semantic modeling, and consumption.
• Drive migration to SAP Datasphere / SAP BDC, including assessment of existing system and target-state design.
• Lead resolution of complex data integration, modeling, authorization, and performance issues.
• Establish development, modeling, architecture, and governance best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, design reviews, mentoring, estimations, and implementation guidance to project teams.

What you'll need

• Minimum 7.5 years of experience in SAP Analytics.
• At least 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) / SAP Datasphere.
• Proficiency in SAP BDC / SAP BTP Datasphere.
• Strong understanding of SAP BDC Data Products, including integration and consumption scenarios.
• Strong experience integrating SAP source systems and architecting enterprise data solutions.
• Ability to independently drive architecture, solution design, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and technical decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated hands-on implementation and solution architecture experience.
• Proven ability to lead complex end-to-end technical workstreams and provide technical leadership across teams.
• 15 years of full-time education required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Understanding of SAP CDS Views and SAP data extraction concepts.
• Experience with enterprise analytics, reusable data models, semantic layers, and data governance.
• Experience in SAP BW/BW4HANA modernization or migration to SAP Datasphere / SAP BDC.
