Data Center Engineer

Overview

Data Center Engineer role in Mumbai focused on hands-on physical work across servers, network infrastructure, and IT components in multiple colocation facilities.

What you'll do

• Oversee the lifecycle of physical servers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain server and network components across data centers.
• Plan rack layouts, cabling schemes, and patching schedules to optimize operations.
• Diagnose hardware issues and coordinate vendor repairs/replacements via RMA.
• Handle shipments, maintain hardware inventory, and manage stock levels for IT components.
• Develop and maintain documentation for physical infrastructure, cabling, and rack configurations.
• Maintain office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data center engineering.
• Strong understanding and basic troubleshooting of server hardware, network devices, and data storage systems.
• Knowledge of network cabling, fiber optics, and optical transceivers.
• Experience with fiber/optic testing.
• Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license required for travel between facilities.
