Data Engineer (1 - 2 years of experience in Java / Python / Go, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop)

Overview

Data Engineer role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and processing jobs.

What you'll do

• Attend stakeholder meetings to learn requirements and understand the data ecosystem, including security, privacy, and retention needs.
• Interpret technical requirements and execute component designs provided by senior engineers.
• Create and implement code across assigned components using coding patterns, guidelines, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, apply feedback, and update owned code/design aspects.
• Conduct unit testing and support testing for one component in a common testing environment.
• Develop automation processes to transform, manage, access, deploy, and monitor data processes.
• Review and escalate alerts, assist investigations, and help implement basic solutions to minimize pipeline failures.

What you'll need

• 1–2 years of experience in Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Flink, and Hadoop.
• Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience attending stakeholder meetings to gather requirements.
• Experience interpreting technical requirements and executing component designs.
• Experience creating and implementing code across assigned components.
• Experience participating in code review processes and applying feedback.
