Data Engineer GCP Mexico

Overview

Data Engineer role focused on building and deploying cloud data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in Mexico.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and deploy cloud-based data pipelines for ingesting data from databases, APIs, and streaming platforms.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and transform it for analysis.
• Design, configure, and manage databases to ensure performance and reliability.
• Use SQL (BigQuery is a must) and NoSQL systems for data handling and retrieval.
• Apply data modeling and database optimization, including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Use orchestration/scheduling tooling with Airflow.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with GCP cloud-based infrastructure and systems.
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing services.
• Proficiency in database management systems including SQL (BigQuery required) and NoSQL.
• Programming skills in SQL, Python, and other scripting.
• Knowledge of at least one orchestration and scheduling tool, with Airflow required.
• Experience with data integration tools and techniques such as ETL and ELT.
• Tools knowledge including Git, Jira, and Confluence.

Nice to have

• Big data and/or cloud certifications.
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Talend or Alteryx.
• Experience with Apache Spark, especially in a GCP environment.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience with Azure cloud-based infrastructure and systems.
