Data Engineering Manager

Overview

Data Engineering Manager role leading a team of Data Engineers with hands-on technical authority. Responsible for building trusted AI and data solutions aligned to business goals.

What you'll do

• Coach and mentor Data Engineers, owning career trajectory and team performance.
• Serve as a hands-on technical lead for code reviews, architecture discussions, and system design.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate goals into technical roadmaps.
• Define and report KPIs and contribute to OKR setting in regular business reviews.
• Steer the team to build scalable, modern data architectures (Data Mesh/Medallion).
• Own reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of the data platform within your domain.

What you'll need

• At least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Several years of Data Engineering experience.
• Hands-on builder track record in cloud-based data environments (preferably Azure Databricks).
• Proven success developing engineering talent and building high-performing autonomous teams.
• Ability to bridge deep technical implementation with C-suite business strategy.
• Experience handling large-scale technical ambiguity with solutions impacting company revenue.
