Data Scientist

Overview

Join the Engineering team as a Data Scientist in Bangalore, contributing to the design, development, testing, sustaining engineering, and documentation of advanced MKS products. The role reports to the Bangalore Engineering Manager.

What you'll do

• Develop and communicate descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights and algorithms.
• Use machine learning and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms that improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy.
• Use current programming languages and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code in theoretical development environments and specific product design, implementation and improvement environments.
• Complete programming and implement efficiencies.
• Perform testing and debugging.
• Apply experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory and machine learning using code for tool building, statistical analysis and modeling.
• Use general-purpose software languages such as C++, C# and Java, and statistical languages such as R, SAS or MATLAB.
• Work with large-scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments such as Hadoop, Cosmos or CloudML.
• Use laboratory equipment and electronic test equipment and prototype hardware for product development, validation and troubleshooting activities.
• Sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
• Occasionally lift and move electronic equipment or test fixtures up to 25 pounds.

What you'll need

• A Bachelor of Science, Master of Science or PhD degree, or equivalent experience, in a related scientific discipline.
• 2 years of related experience.
