Data Scientist

Overview

Senior analyst data scientist role within Citi’s Analytics & Information Management (AIM) team, focused on AML financial crime data analytics and intelligence.

What you'll do

• Apply quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify suspicious customer behavior.
• Design, develop, and implement Machine Learning/AI/Gen AI solutions for AML transaction monitoring.
• Analyze transaction data and develop models to identify suspicious transaction activities.
• Validate data, identify data quality issues, and work with Technology to address them.
• Automate data extraction and preprocessing, and perform adhoc data analysis.
• Communicate analytical concepts, results, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of experience in Financial Services / Analytics Industry.
• Knowledge and exposure to AI/Gen AI and Agentic AI tools and techniques.
• Strong statistical modeling, data analytics, and logical reasoning ability.
• Good knowledge of Python, including NumPy and Pandas, and SQL.
• Experience with big data tools and Spark.
• Masters in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Operational Research, Business Administration, or Economics (or a track record demonstrating it).
• Strong written and verbal communication ability.
• Highly skilled knowledge of MS Excel (VBA experience is a plus).
