Senior Data Engineer

Overview

Senior Data Engineer (Device metrics) responsible for designing data models and building scalable data pipelines for capturing business metrics across Roku devices.

What you'll do

• Build highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed data processing systems for batch and streaming.
• Develop data pipelines that optimize for data quality and handle poor quality sources.
• Own data mapping, business logic, transformations, and data quality.
• Debug and optimize low-level systems and measure performance on large production clusters.
• Participate in architecture discussions and influence product roadmap.
• Maintain and support existing platforms and evolve to newer technology stacks and architectures.

What you'll need

• Have extensive SQL skills.
• Be proficient in at least one scripting language; Python is required.
• Have experience with big data technologies including HDFS, YARN, Map-Reduce, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Presto.
• Demonstrate proficiency in data modeling by designing, implementing, and optimizing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Have 8+ years of professional experience as a data engineer.
• Hold a BS in Computer Science; MS in Computer Science preferred.
• Show AI literacy / AI growth mindset.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as developers, analysts, and operations to execute deliverables.

• Based in Bangalore, India; requires hybrid working with 4 days in the office.
