DataOps Architect/Lead

Overview

Lead/design-authority role for end-to-end architecture of an Azure data platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks. Owns governance, security, and DataOps standards that implementation teams follow.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end architecture and translate requirements into scalable, secure designs.
• Design enterprise-scale Fabric/Databricks architecture across workspaces, networking, security, and governance.
• Define standards for CI/CD, IaC, DataOps, and environment management to support security and compliance.
• Evaluate technology options, identify architectural risks, and define mitigation strategies.
• Act as the primary architecture point of contact; lead workshops and present trade-offs/roadmaps.
• Provide technical oversight via architecture/design reviews and technical mentoring of leads/architects.

What you'll need

• 8-10+ years overall experience in data engineering/cloud architecture.
• 3+ years as a Solution Architect or comparable design-authority role.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• 4+ years hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
• Proven track record designing and delivering enterprise-scale Azure data platforms end-to-end.
• Must have Azure experience (Azure mandatory).
• Must-have certifications/competencies include Azure Solution Architecture, Fabric Architecture, and Databricks Architecture.
